Welcome to the GIS Library Media Center, a friendly, comfortable place for reading & research! We have a well stocked library where we try to keep up with all the new releases and top sellers for children.
Our Collection: We maintain a continuous supply of high interest reading and audio resource material at the GIS Library. We have about 10,000 fiction, non-fiction, and reference books, and1000 Islamic fiction and non-fiction titles for children and young adults.
Our Mission: The GIS library Media Center’s mission is to guide students toward independent study skills through instruction on the use of the library and to facilitate and guide students in their reading interests. We aim to help our children develop a love of reading early in life, which will help them to excel in other subjects at school and develop problem solving skills.
Hours: Our library hours are 7:45 to 3:30 Monday through Friday, except Wednesday 7:45 to 2:30. Our library staff includes Samira Aamer and Shaheena Khan.
Check out Policy: Students in grades 2-8 may check out as many books as their grade, i.e. 3rd graders may check out 3 books. There are no late fines, however new books cannot be checked out until books are returned.
