Info Session on WASC* Accreditation

Join us in a session that addresses the following questions:
- What is accreditation?
- Why does Granada need accreditation?
- What are the goals of WASC accreditation?
- What are the main tasks of accreditation?
- What are the ESLR’s**?
- What is the parent’s role in the accreditation process?
*WASC stands for Western Association for Schools and Colleges
www.acswasc.org. WASC is the accrediting commission for California public and private schools.
**ESLR stands for Expected Schoolwide Learning Results or graduation outcomes that each school sets as goals for their students.
Granada’s ESLR’s:
Granada developed its ESLR’s in February 2002. They were developed by a group of 40 people who represented all stakeholders of the school.
Granada Islamic School students will:
- Develop love and reverence for Allah and prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him
- Be academically distinguished
- Be socially well-rounded individuals
- Have a sense of physical well being
