Established by the Muslim Community Association (MCA) in 1988, Granada Islamic School (GIS) has provided the children of the Muslim community of the San Francisco Bay Area with the opportunity to learn in an Islamic environment. Since its inception, GIS has dedicated its efforts towards inspiring and preparing students to be life-long learners and realize the importance of striving for the best in this life and the hereafter. With a humble beginning of 25 students, GIS today is honored to educate approximately 500 students grades Pre-K through 12.

Accreditation
Granada Islamic School has been granted another 6-year accreditation status through June 30, 2022, by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC). This accreditation is for the entire school, Kindergarten through High School.
